Mykonos - The party isle of the Aegean

Mykonos, the most famous of the islands in Greece and one of the world's most popular holiday resorts has been welcoming visitors for over half a century. It is the cosmopolitan centre of the Cyclades complex. Its reputation has spread during the last years owed to its unparalleled landscape, its archaelogical sites, its cosmopolite environment and its glorious beaches. White-washed, cube-shaped houses are scattered all over the island, narrow down streets in the city, chapels & picturesque tavernas hide amongst art galleries & stores selling jewellery, souvenirs etc. Because it is so famous, Mykonos gets really overcrowded in the period of high season but for those who enjoy the crowd, great fun & all night long entertainment, Mykonos is the idealistic place for vacations.

The unique nightlife has been the major attraction for tourists and Mykonos is among the leading clubbing destinations in the entire Mediterranean region. Prominent disk jockeys come to the island during the summer months to work at the famous nightspots around the resorts in Paranga, Paradise and Super Paradise. There are lively dance bars traditional clubs which are open daily until the wee hours of the morning. Gay bars also abound since Mykonos is a primary major gay-friendly destination in Europe. Although gay life and culture is fairly reserved and not in any way shown off, the gay bars are relatively jam-packed night, when the crowds frequently trickle outside into the adjoining thoroughfares.
